Enthusiastic fans cheered and jeered the once unstoppable comedic force, Andrew Dice Clay, as he left the audience at the Jack Singer Concert Hall rolling in the aisles.

With over 20 years of performing under his belt Andrew Dice Clay has hit the road again with a North American tour. Though he isn’t playing stadiums like Madison Square Gardens, as he did during his early years of fame, he is packing theatres for intimate and very interactive shows. Die-hard fans are getting up close and personal with a comedian who is famous for his raunchy acts.

The Rise and Fall

Dice Clay, a versatile performer, has been doing stand-up comedy, acting for television and movies and recording since the early '80s. With over 15 film appearances, more than 10 specials, and 9 recordings Andrew Dice Clay is a comedic force not to be reckoned with. He was at the top of his game throughout the late 1980s and into the early 1990s. He is perhaps best known for his comedic routine “Dirty Nursery Rhymes” and his starring role in The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. Notorious for his explicit routines, the comedian fell hard from the limelight during the mid 90s when his acts went too far for many of a conservative mind.

An Iconic Comedian

The Brooklyn native, now 50 years old, hasn’t changed a thing about his act despite being ostracized by others in his industry for several years. Signs of his age may be showing, his hair is salt-and-pepper grey and he is softer around the edges than in his younger years, nevertheless the “Diceman” still puts on his well known costume. Strolling onto the Jack Singer stage in his all black ensemble: shoes, trousers, t-shirt, and his quintessential leather vest Andrew Dice Clay’s stage presence is as strong as ever. So is his language.

Dice performed a set that can be accurately described as unapologetic as he joked about subjects like sex, race, technology, and what bothers him during his day-to-day life. Throughout his show the audience could be heard reacting with almost as many expressions of shock as episodes of crippling laughter. Every now and then a surprised silence took hold of show goers as a particularly offensive statement was heard.

Taking it on the Road

Now Andrew Dice Clay is gearing up for what can only be called a comeback. After several years of seeing relatively little of the sometimes shocking and always funny star, Dice is once again tackling an international tour. Carrying on with classic staples from his earlier acts as well as a lot of new material taken from his life he is still up to his old antics. Andrew Dice Clay is a hilarious comedic performer not to be missed while he is on tour. This “Heavyweight Comedy King” still reigns.
