America's Got Talent winner, Terry Fator, has made it to the big time. His flawless Las Vegas show has crowned him "the best show in Vegas," says Tony Orlando.
Terry Fator is a multi-talented ventriloquist, impressionist and singer all wrapped in one hilarious package. After winning one million dollars on season 2 of America's Got Talent, Fator was recruited as a headliner by the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. The PuppetsHis wide range of puppets come alive and dazzle the audience with their wit, distinct personalities and strong vocals. Fator uses 16 different puppets in his show, including two females. Some of the most memorable characters include Vicki the Cougar; Winston the Impersonating Turtle, who concluded Fator's performance with a song by Kermit the Frog and Louis Armstrong; Maynard Tompkins, an Elvis impressionator who only sings Aaron Neville songs; and Walter T. Airedale, a sarcastic country singer. The ShowFator and his puppets perform a wide variety of songs, impersonating artists such as Aaron Neville, Elvis, the Beatles, Gnarles Barkley, Axl Rose, Amy Winehouse, and more. His ability to sound exactly like other artists, including females, while singing with his mouth closed is truly remarkable. Fator ties in family comedy with dirty jokes. A few of the puppets, including Winston the Impersonating Turtle and Vicki the Cougar, offer no end to the sexual innuendo. But parents fear not, there's no swearing and most of the jokes would be lost on young kids. Halfway through the show, Fator interludes with a tribute to those who serve or have served in the military by performing a beautiful rendition of Home by Michael Buble. One great thing about Fator's show is his interaction with the audience. He laughed at many of his own jokes, making the show more casual and less scripted than other comedy acts. And he even included one unlucky audience member who Fator and his assistant transformed into a Cher puppet, complete with mask, dress and wig. Fator and his human puppet performed Sonny and Cher's "I've Got You Babe." While dressing up as Michael Jackson and performing a hilarious version of Billie Jean, Fator made the classic ventriloquist mistake—he mixed up the voices. But despite his face-reddening embarassment, he came prepared for such a mistake with a few hilarious jokes that sparked some of the shows greatest laughs. Tony OrlandoTerry Fator's performance on Thursday, April 30, offered a surprise guest—singing sensation Tony Orlando. Although it's been decades since Sweet Caronline topped the charts, Orlando was no stranger to the stage. He sang "Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Old Oak Tree" and "Knock Three Times" before declaring Fator's show the best in Vegas. And the compliment was certainly deserved.
